Heart disease is the No. 1 killer in the United States, accounting for more than one-third of all deaths. And while the likelihood of heart disease increases with age, it begins early in life. In one study, researchers looked at heart transplant doors (those who had volunteered the use of their organs to save the lives of others), and found the following percentages had hardening of the arteries:  17 percent of those under the age of 20 37 percent of those in their 20s 60 percent of those in their 30s 71 percent of those in their 40s 85 percent of those in their 50s  Why? Because we tend to pick up our bad habits early in life.Â
First, our diets are higher in animal/dairy fats, cholesterol, salt, and processed/refined foods, and lower in fiber that those of other cultures.Â
Second, we live more sedentary lives.Â
Third, we breathe in more pollutants, whether it is through smoking ourselves, or breathing secondhand smoke.  Thankfully, we can take steps right now to stop--even reverse--heart disease. Whether it's poor eating habits, a lack or regular exercise, and/or inadequate nutrition, we can break those bad habits...before they break us. Below you’ll find links to my articles and television programs. It is my hope that  you will read all the information carefully, and that you will apply it to your own health. Also, pray about each topic and discuss any concerns with your doctor. Finally, be sure to share this information with your loved ones so that they, too, can discover their Pathway to Healing.
